JCS has been an absolute life saver for me!

I am a sole carer for my elderly mother, who has Alzheimers Disease/Dementia, and I really needed someone to help so that I could have a break because I could feel myself becoming worn down and ill.

When I first contacted Janette, she came to meet my mother, introduce herself, explain her services and see what she could do to help us. My mother is very wary of strangers and doesn't like anyone else but me to be here, but Janette has been brilliant with her. Very patient, very kind, very caring, and extremely professional. I feel completely confident that I can trust her to take care of my mother when I have a few hours out of the house, just to go shopping, have a break, for any appointments that I may have – basically to allow me to have a life again and a little time for myself, safe in the knowledge that my mother is in very good hands. She has taken my mother and I to hospital appointments (I do not drive) which has been a brilliant help.

When another carer is going to come in, she always introduces them and stays with them for the first time so that my mother can get to know them and feel safe with them. All of Janette's carers have been so kind, friendly and patient and I always feel happy leaving my mother in their charge.

Janette is extremely reliable and flexible in her approach, always trying to accommodate any booking I request , and has never let me down. She, and her carers, have become friends who I trust wholeheartedly, and I would absolutely recommend her services to anyone who has a loved one who needs extra care or companionship. I feel extremely lucky to have found this Companionship Service, it has really given me my life back, as well as allowing my mother to make new friends who understand her, what she needs and have a laugh and a joke with her while they are here, which really cheers her up.

When my partners health deteriorated to the point that he could not safely be left on his own I started to look for a sitting/companion service so I could leave him safely, while I got some much needed breaks.  I picked up a leaflet about Janette’s at my local shop, contacted her and arranged for her to visit to meet us.  From then until he died Janette provided frequent companions, who were all very competent and friendly.  Not once were we let down and the time keeping was spot on.  Peter was pleased that some of the companions were men, unusual but important.  I recommend her services to friends that need help and am happy to do so.

We are very grateful to Janette who looked after my brother when he was no longer able to manage on his own. She was very sensible, extremely kind and incredibly helpful and proactive. She and her team shopped and cooked for him, chatted with him and even offered to go to his house if he needed help over the bank holiday. She and her team also gave us very helpful feedback. My brother has now gone into a care home but we would not hesitate to use Janette’s service again should we need to.

I first found Janette in November 2018. She had just started her business, JanetteCares, and I was desperate for an occasional visitor for my mother who was 98 at that time as I am her only surviving child and am abroad a lot of the time.  I had no one to call on to give her some support and I was so lucky to come across this lovely lady who has been a Godsend to me and mum. I call her my angel, and that is exactly what she is, my link and lifeline who I trust implicitly to be a friend and support to my precious mother. Mum is now approaching her 100th birthday and I believe without Janette’s visits she would not have been able to get through the past two years, especially with the Covid lockdown. Janette has been very patient and helped mum with her hearing difficulties and occasional confusion, never complaining, always kind and understanding and they have become great friends. I cannot praise Janette and her team enough for the help they provide, also writing  reports on each visit that keep up to date with mums wellbeing. Most of all she gives me peace of mind that I know mum is safe and happy when I cannot be there for her. And I have a new friend too!
