VE DAY 8 MAY 2020

The May 8 VE Day celebrations have been given their own bank holiday this year, as the 75th anniversary is considered particularly significant. This has replaced the May Day bank holiday - which usually falls on the first Monday of the month

Towns and villages celebrated in their own ways during the COVID-19 Lockdown, a lot of villages had their own garden party in their front gardens and made the best of the nice weather. People made their own flags and Dame Vera Lynn's song We'll Meet Again became the song of the day.
