The SOLDIER

Updated: Nov 12, 2022

It's wonderful for Companions to support a generation of clients who lived through a war and can recount their own very individual and varied memories of this poignant time in their life...it's humbling and a privilege to be part of this journey and so difficult to even consider what this must have meant or felt like .... lifestyles dramatically altered and emotions, undoubtedly raw .... never knowing when family members would return.

Our clients have engaged, with interest, in their local villages and Town's efforts for Armistice Day 2022.They've reminisced, family have accompanied one gent to a Memorial Service held on his village green .... looked at photos taken when they're unable to physically go out to see for themselves.

They've enjoyed purchasing poppies in support of the Royal British Legion and visited a local church which was described as "beautiful.

"

Hope is what we all need now and, in the future, and never is a more important time to consider this than on the 11th hour, of the 11th day.

The constant need to strive for peace and an understanding of how we can all sustain, understanding and compassion for all.

'WE WILL REMEMBER THEM'
